For a sensational sunset view that doesn't involve jostling through quite so many crowds as at Laem Phromthep, hunt down this slightly more secluded lookout point 1.5km north of the cape on Rte 4233. At the top of the hill there's a turn-off under a towering white windmill to a small gazebo, where you can sit on the sloping grass while the sun sinks.
